Our Puppies
We are currently accepting $500 deposits for our Spring 2026 litter. Our puppies will be ready for their forever homes late May or early June 2026 (depending on when they are born). Please note Washington residents will be charged sales tax. We do deliver puppies throughout the US. Just let us know where you live and we will be happy to discuss arrangements to have your puppy delivered.
Ginger’s puppies are a mix with 66 percent golden retriever and 34 percent border collie. Some puppies may have a smooth, medium or long furry coat and a variety of marking combinations.
Because our puppies are raised in our home, one litter at a time, they are continually exposed to the everyday sights and sounds of family life. This includes everything from evening music by Mozart to vacuum cleaners, blow dryers and dropped pots. This helps their startle reflex as they grow, learning that all sounds are normal and non-threatening.
We use age appropriate puzzles, games and problem solving to help with their mental growth. One of the more important training exercises is teaching puppies that there are solutions to problems with barrier training – creating an obstacle between the puppy and their food. Using positive reinforcement, this approach helps the puppies learn to think outside the box, and become happy, successful adult dogs.
When our puppies are old enough, and weather permitting, they get time outside on our front porch, back deck, and in our backyard. This enables them be familiarized with typical outdoor noises, odors, and a variety of textures from grass to shrubbery to trees; accepting life in the great outdoors as the fun part of life. They hear the sounds of children playing, bells ringing, and bus and traffic noises from a nearby school. Our home and yard are both designed to give the puppies ongoing opportunities to experience as many different textures, sounds and places as possible. We take them on car rides and very short walks on a lead – all in preparation for life in your world.
In an effort to give back to those in need, we work with our puppies to confirm their aptitude for future training as service dogs and/or therapy dogs. This gives the opportunity for those purchasing our puppies to train their dog for service use; in schools, nursing homes, and other community service opportunities.
